Why would I choose tonic No.8 over your other tonic waters?

We get it. We make too many tonics. It's kind of annoying. And confusing. Each tonic in our portfolio exists for a very specific purpose and caters to either a unique craft spirit pairing experience or customer need. In the case of our flagship Tonic No.8, it was created to deliver a versatile, hard-hitting tonic, worthy of accentuating most craft gins, delivering a traditional, punchy, juniper-led G&T.

What is Indian tonic water?

Indian tonic water is the classic quinine-forward style of tonic, combining cinchona bitterness with citrus. Tonic No. 8 sits at the assertive end of that style and is built specifically for juniper-led gin.

What does StrangeLove Tonic No. 8 taste like?

Bitter cinchona upfront, bitter orange and lemon peel through the middle, with juniper on the finish. It is the most bitter tonic in the StrangeLove range. We recommend that the best way to taste it, is to buy it from this website and put it in your mouth.

What gin goes best with Tonic No. 8?

Juniper-forward craft gins are the obvious match, Navy strength gins, or really any gin that needs a little jazzing up with a decent tonic. For citrus-heavy or floral gins, Light Tonic or Coastal Tonic lets the spirit take up a little more space.

How much sugar is in Tonic No. 8?

Tonic No. 8 contains 7.0g sugar and 30 calories per 100ml. If you're comparing tonic water calories or sugar across the range, Light Tonic is lower at 2.9g sugar per 100ml.

Which StrangeLove tonic has the least sugar?

Light Tonic has the least sugar at 2.9g per 100ml. Coastal Tonic contains 6.0g, while Tonic No. 8 contains 7.0g per 100ml.

Does Tonic No. 8 contain artificial sweeteners?

No, we avoid artificial sweeteners, and anything that makes drinks taste very very bad.

Why is this tonic called No.8?

Much like passing our driving test, it took 8 goes before we got this game changing Indian Tonic right. Although, unlike the driving tests, no suburban driving instructors were harmed during the creation of Tonic No.8

Where are your products made?

Our products are made in the western suburbs of Melbourne, Victoria. We picked that spot because the youth knife crime, unkempt share houses and balding hipsters are fun to look at while taste tasting our drinks.

Are your ingredients locally sourced?

The majority of our ingredients are grown, made or produced in Australia. The obvious exceptions being certain extracts or specialty ingredients like Yuzu juice. But we have a friend of a friend who just put in (two!) Yuzu trees so we should be sorted for a few Yuzus by the year 2035.

Why is this drink called Tonic No.8? That’s a stupid name.

It took eight attempts to land on Tonic No. 8, which feels less like luck and more like advertising on our packaging how many times we screwed up before getting it right. Some might call it persistence. Others, stupidity.

Will bringing this tonic water to a party make people like me? I am horribly lonely and unpleasant to be around.. Help.

The tonic alone cannot do all of the heavy lifting. Sure, on looks alone it makes you seem 127% more successful and desirable, but you need to throw in some casual and witty quips such as ‘’How about that local sports team huh!?’’ and ‘’Hey, want to see my ingrown toenail?’’. Genuine crowd pleasers.

What is the square root of 8?

Who cares? Get out of here nerd.
