What is Tonic Water?

In its simplest form, Tonic water is carbonated water, quinine and sugar. More premium versions of this classic mixer also include infusions such as citrus, herbs, botanicals and sea salt to assist in carrying and enhancing the craft spirits they are designed to pair with. We have carefully crafted a portfolio of tonic waters to cater to different preferences - from varying bitterness levels, to floral infusions, to herbaceous and savoury elixers to appease the more adventurous drinker.

Is tonic water good for you?

Cheap commercial Tonic waters generally contain a very high sugar content (up to 33g per 100ml…yikes) - so unless you are gunning for an early grave - we would recommend steering clear of guzzling tonic water as your beverage of choice. However, StrangeLove has drastically reduced the sugar content (approx 7g per 100ml or 2.9g per 100ml in Light Tonic) and achieved a depth of flavour using quality ingredients such as native botanicals, Australian citrus and raw cinchona extracts. The point of the story is - if you are going to indulge in tonic water - make it the good stuff.

What goes well with Tonic Water?

Are your products Vegan and/or Gluten Free?

Yes. Because our products are soft drinks, they generally don’t eat any animal products or gluten at all. They also, thankfully, don’t contain any.

Are your ingredients locally sourced? 

Approximately 97% of our ingredients are grown, made or produced in Australia. The obvious exceptions being certain extracts or specialty ingredients like Yuzu juice. But we have a friend of a friend who just put in (two!) Yuzu trees so we should be sorted for a few Yuzus by the year 2035.

Where are your products made?

Our products are all made in regional Victoria, near the Macedon Ranges. We picked that spot because the water is pure, the cows seem happy and we think it will make a nice place to see out the rest of the apocalypse.
